Crystal Dezember Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. Has Donated The Second Round of Funds to Weber State University TAPT Program. Now totalling over $24,000 in donations in less than two years.

Layton, Utah. June 28, 2022 - The Crystal Dezember Memorial Scholarship Fund has donated $12,000 to Weber State University’s TAPT (Teacher Assistant Pathway to Teaching) program. This donation marks the second contribution from the fund, which has pledged a minimum of $24,000 in donations.

“It has been nearly 16 months since Crystal lost her battle to ovarian cancer and we are honored to keep her legacy going with this donation in support of the students of the TAPT program at Weber State.” said Brody Dezember, Crystal’s late husband and Fund Director. “Crystal's family and friends strive to keep her memory alive through countless charitable acts of kindness.”

TAPT is a unique program that provides paraeducators, also known as teacher’s assistants, the financial support and mentoring needed to become fully licensed teachers. The purpose of the TAPT program is to provide a path for Special Education, Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, ESL or Bilingual school district personnel to become highly qualified, skilled teachers in local schools.

Crystal was an unbelievable educator that loved her work and adored the students she taught during her 9 years as a teacher. She made an astonishing impact on each and every person that she came in contact with throughout her life. Crystal left a deep-rooted memory of her selflessness after she lost the battle she had been fighting tirelessly to win. The fund was established, March of 2021, in her honor.
