Earlier in the year we donated to Ms. Hinojosa’s classroom project below.
My Project
I have amazing, creative, and hard-working fourth and fifth graders. More than 60% of my students come from lower socioeconomic homes. Many of my kids are ESL, and many more qualify for special education. I have the best students, and I want to give them the best! Because of the daily obstacles my students face, some of them find education very challenging. Many come to school without their basic needs being met, so it is hard for them to focus on math, science, or reading. I try to think outside of the box so that my kids are engaged and want to learn.
Every student learns to solve the Rubik's Cube. This teaches perseverance, patience, and collaboration skills. We also connect the Rubik's Cube to many different math skills that we learn throughout the school year.
I have several students who have already mastered the 3x3 Rubik's Cube. I would love to provide a new challenge (extension) for those kids. We need some 4x4 cubes to give us that challenge. We would be so grateful for your support!
We are so grateful for all of the support and generosity of all of you have given in Crystal’s honor. Here is a quick thank from the classroom.
Dear Crystal Dezember Memorial Scholarship Fund,
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of the 4x4 Rubik's Cubes to our classroom. Your gift will not only enhance the learning experience of my students but also spark their curiosity and creativity in solving puzzles.
The Rubik's Cubes enabled my students to develop their problem-solving skills and foster their love for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. Your support has provided our class with the necessary resources to engage students in hands-on activities and promote critical thinking.
Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity. My students absolutely love the challenges with the Rubik's Cubes.
With gratitude,
Ms. Hinojosa
